Training Update: Getting Motivation to Run


Today was one of the most difficult days to motivate myself to run. I was comfortable and perfectly content to stay on the couch and read, relaxing my mind or cook up some homemade pizza. But my wonderful husband, who never says yes to an off day, gently got me off my butt and into my running clothes. I thought I would stop after 3 feet, but I knew I had to do something (spring break is like 2 days away! And that bikini is taunting me in the bathroom everyday). So, I put on something that made me feel pretty and strong- my running skirt! When I put that on, I knew I would be ok. I looked in the mirror and felt strong. At the last minute, I grabbed my ipod for some extra inspiration, just in case the skirt wasn't enough to get me all the way through.

And, as it turns out, I was able to run my 3 miles quite fast. The music helped get me going and I decided not to let myself slow down once I got there. I am so happy that I did it, I feel so much better!

Good for you! I'm telling you - cute outfit + awesome music = good run. Exciting that you get to go somewhere warm for your spring break!!
